The Stutes return to United Counties League Premier Division action this Bank Holiday weekend with six league points up for grabs. The double bill starts on Saturday with the visit of Coventry United to Bridge Road for a 3.00pm kick-off.  We then make the short trip to the Alfred Hall Memorial Ground to take on Eynesbury Rovers on Monday afternoon, again with a 3.00pm kick-off.

After recording draws in our first two home fixtures of the season, Chris Nunn’s side will be looking for all three points on Saturday.  In our 120-year history, the Stutes have never lost a league game against Coventry United, but to be fair, we have only met each other on four occasions.  Our record against the Warwickshire side stand at won two, drawn two and lost none with an average of four goals scored in games between the two sides.

Coventry made a disappointing start to the season, suffering a 7-1 defeat at Aylestone Park on the opening day followed by a 1-5 reverse at home against Daventry Town.  However, a change in management saw their fortunes turn around with a 4-1 win at Godmanchester and a 1-1 draw with Bugbrooke St Michaels last time out.

Stutes Manager Chris Nunn will be looking for his side to be firing on all cylinders this weekend with the news from the treatment room that Finley Edwards, Connor Barnes, Matty Allan, Danny Gould and Jake Kerins could all be in contention to play some part in both games.  In his programme notes, Nunny says, “I thought our performance against March Town United was really good. We are still not where I would like us to be, but I felt the game last Tuesday was a step in the right direction.”

The manager’s analysis of our season to date, a match report on our game at Bugbrooke St Michaels, a roundup of recent ECL Premier South action, a look back at a bygone FA Cup match and all the regular features and stats are all packed into this week’s programme priced at just £2.00.

The bar will be open from 1.30 on Saturday with live football on the TV and the burger bar will be open throughout the afternoon.

We look forward to seeing and hearing you getting behind your team at Bridge Road on Saturday and at Eynesbury Rovers on Monday in what promises to be a bumper weekend of footie action.
