The Stutes face two challenging games at Bridge Road in the next few days with all-important league points up for grabs.  Firstly, Newport Pagnell Town are our visitors on Saturday as we look to extend our unbeaten home record since the start of the season.  The Swans have blown hot and cold this season, as they demonstrated by being the first club to beat Rugby Borough this season, only to lose 4-0 against strugglers Northampton ON Chenecks three days later.  A win will see us leapfrog the Buckinghamshire side who are currently in 11th place.

Games between Newport Pagnell and ourselves have a history of finishing in away wins.  We have won on each of our last two visits to Willen Road but lost the return fixtures at Bridge Road.  Chris Nunn’s side will be looking to break that sequence in Saturday’s game, which has a 3.00 pm kick-off.

Admission on the day will be the usual £10 for adults, £6 for Concessions and £2 for 12 to 17-year-olds.  Accompanied under 12s go free.  Doors open at 1.00 pm with Sky Sport showing live Premiership football in the upstairs bar.

The following Tuesday we host Yaxley, who like ourselves and Newport Pagnell have not had the start to the season they may have wished for.  However, a change of manager has seen them start to pick up points and they are now one of five clubs on seven points, which is just one point more than us.  Admission price are as for the game on Saturday.

While you are at the ground, you can now purchase one of the new replica home shirt, or even an away shirt if that is your preference.  If your size is not in stock, have a word with Howard in the club office and he will arrange for one to be made specially for you for the usual retail price of £34.99.  There is also a range of other seasonal items available at the club’s online shop which you can browse at Club Shop – Histon FC

Tuesday’s game is sponsored by The Plough and Fleece of Horningsea.  The pub has recently undergone a full refurbishment and is now under new management.  The timber framed public house and restaurant combines both a formal and informal atmosphere, providing a fine dining room at the front and a traditional rustic bar with informal eating tables at the rear.  See their website at Plough and Fleece Pub – HIgh Street, Horningsea, CB25 9JG, 01223 860 795
