Histon Football Club was saddened to learn of the recent passing of long-standing supporter Gordon Dixon.

Gordon had been an attendee at Bridge Road for many years, often seen along with son-in-law Bill and Grandson Stephen Parker. Gordon was a season ticket holder up until this season, as well as being a shareholder of the club. It is perhaps fitting that the final game that Gordon was able to attend in person, was the fixture that carries his Grandon Stephen’s name, when we entertained Cambridge City on July 23rd challenging for the Stephen Parker Memorial Trophy.

By his relationship to Stephen, Gordon was often affectionately referred to as “Grandad” to many at the club, and although he had been unable to attend in recent months, Gordon still took a keen interest in Histon FC and their results. Indeed, it is pleasing to know that his final memory of the side, was the recent 5-2 victory over Rothwell Corinthians.

All connected with Histon Football Club send their most sincere condolences to Gordon’s daughter, Corrine and her husband Bill, along with their wider family and friends.
