Histon Football Club is delighted to announce that Danny Gould has agreed to a deal which will once again see him take to the Bridge Road turf for the forthcoming 2023/24 season.
Unfortunately, the versatile Gould missed the entire 2022/23 season due to an ACL tear sustained back in December 2021, though having undergone a successful surgery all roads lead back to a return to action. To date ‘Zukes’ has amassed 191 appearances for The Stutes, including 22 goals having graduated from the club’s scholarship scheme back in 2015. A brief spell with Grays Athletic came in the early stages of the 2021/22 season before Gould re-signed in December 2021.
On his return from injury and decision to prolong his time under the guidance of Lance Key, Gould had the following to say; “I am over the injury now and just need to get myself 100% fit. I was always going to sign back on with Histon even after 17 months out, as I love the club with it being like family. I have always gotten on really well with the supporters and have a special relationship with Lance, Mark and Simon.”
Manager, Lance Key added; “Danny Gould, where have you been? Zukes has been out with a knee injury for over a year and was training with us at the end of last season to gain his strength back. Danny will be re-joining the boys for pre-season and this will feel like a new signing, even though he has spent almost all of his time here since his scholarship days. What Danny brings is versatility, goals and a high performance level which will only add to our existing squad. We are all so very pleased that Zuko’s journey will continue with us, as I know he will only make us stronger.”
Welcome back, Danny!
