After falling to a 2-1 defeat at a windswept Hamilton Park against Leicester Nirvana last weekend, we are back home on Saturday welcoming G.N.G Oadby Town to Bridge Road.
Although struggling close to the foot of the table for much of the season G.N.G Oadby Town are attempting to pull out of the relegation zone as the season draws to its climax. They have been helped by their recent form of 3 wins out of their last 6 games, including wins at two of their main rivals to avoid the drop; Godmanchester Rovers, and Easington Sports, with the latter now only 1 point ahead of the team from Leicester.
Those that made the trip to the away fixture in September were richly rewarded with a 5-0 victory for the Stutes, our biggest win of the season so far, with goals coming from Connor Barnes (2), Karl Saffery, Luke Young and Max York. However, the Stutes will not be underestimating today’s opponents, who in addition to their recent form, also beat Aylestone Park in February.
In addition to today’s football, the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity team are at the ground collecting donations and answering any questions. Please feel free to have a chat with one of the volunteers to learn more about the charity’s services.
Also, look out for some of the Histon veterans from those heady days from times gone by, who will be at the game, and why not take the opportunity to reminisce with them about our former glories.
Enjoy the day.
And up the Stutes!
