After the disappointment of our first two friendlies being called off due to the wet July weather, we finally get our pre-season schedule under way tomorrow when Hitchin Town are the visitors to Bridge Road. Step 3 side Hitchin will be competing in the Southern League Premier Division Central next season, so they are likely to be a stiff test for our young side. The game will be the annual Stephen Parker Memorial fixture and will kick off at 3.00pm with the bar and stadium food outlet open as usual.
This will be our first opportunity to see how manager Chris Nunn’s squad is shaping up for the start of the competitive season, which begins on 27th July with a home match against Northampton Sileby Rovers, followed by an FA Cup Extra Preliminary tie at Stowmarket Town the following weekend. The remainder of the UCL fixtures are expected to be announced within the next few days, so keep a close eye on this website and other Histon FC social media.
The stadium is looking spic and span after its summer make-over, so come on down and exercise your vocal chords as a prelude to the small matter taking place in Berlin the following evening!
