Histon Football Club is delighted to announce that influential striker and former club captain Ed Rolph has agreed to re-join The Stutes.

Rolph’s first spell at Bridge Road began in the summer of 2017, after which an instant impact was evident. In his first season at Step 5 in the Eastern Counties League, his 19 goals aided Lance Key’s side as they finished in 6th place. The following 2018/19 season Rolph amassed 20 goals in a memorable campaign which saw The Stutes crowned as Champions.

In total, the forward has thus far made 152 appearances, scoring on 72 occasions. We lvery much look forward to seeing this tally added to in due course.

On Rolph’s return, Manager Lance Key had the following to say; “We are delighted to have Ed Rolph back in our squad. As we all know Ed will give us another edge up front and will be an asset within both boxes. He is coming home after trying something new and I am delighted that it did not go quite how he would have liked, as Ed will be a real thorn in defenders sides this season. He will bring leadership qualities and will add to our squad as we seek to push toward the play-offs.”

Meanwhile, Rolph himself added; “I am thoroughly looking forward to re-joining a club that has always been close to my heart. It has been a tough couple of seasons, but the aspiration is to push on this year for promotion and get back to where we should be. After some time away from football there was only one place that I thought was the right fit for me. I very much look forward to seeing what we can achieve this year and I have a certain goal record very much in my sights”.

Welcome back, Ed!
